This privacy policy describes how ServiceMatch ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our website at servicematch.online (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.
What information do we collect?
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, post a job, list a service business, apply for a worker position, send a message, or contact our support team. This information may include your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, profile photo, license details, business description, hourly rate, and the content of jobs and messages you send through the platform. If you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your email, name, and Google account ID.
We also automatically collect technical information when you visit the Service, including your IP address, device type, browser version, pages viewed, referring URL, and timestamps. This data is used for security, abuse prevention, and product analytics. We use first-party cookies and may use analytics cookies to understand aggregate usage patterns. You may control cookies through your browser settings.
How do we use your information?
We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve the Service; to facilitate matches between customers, companies, and workers; to send transactional emails (such as job notifications, message alerts, and account confirmations); to enforce our Terms of Service; and to protect the safety and integrity of our community. With your explicit consent, we may also send marketing emails — you may unsubscribe at any time.
When do we share information with others?
Information you post publicly (your company profile, public reviews, job listings) is visible to other ServiceMatch users and may be indexed by search engines. We share contact details between matched parties only after explicit interest is expressed (a company expressing interest in a job, or a customer reaching out to a company). We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate the platform — for example, our hosting provider, transactional email service, and payment processor. These providers are contractually obligated to use your information only for the purposes we authorize. We may also disclose information when required by law, in response to valid legal process, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
How do we protect your information?
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted HTTPS connections, salted password hashes (bcrypt), prepared SQL statements to prevent injection, CSRF protection, rate-limited login attempts, and secure session cookies. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
How long do we retain data?
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@servicematch.online. After deletion, we may retain anonymized aggregate data and certain records required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
What are your rights?
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You may also opt out of marketing communications and certain types of analytics. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@servicematch.online and we will respond within 30 days.
Children's privacy
ServiceMatch is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Third-party services
The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services (Google OAuth for sign-in, Stripe for future payment processing, advertising networks). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we encourage you to review them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date above and notify users of material changes by email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
